SOPRANOS

"He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me." He loves me..Looks like purple daisies to me...he loves me...

GREEN HERON

“When you doubt your power, you give power to your doubt”

I thought, hello beautiful bird as he flew up beside me. The green herons are not as timed as the bigger herons. He flew right by me for a brief photo shoot, then off to a better spot to fish.

RACCOONS

"Peekaboo, I see you!"

I heard something crying in the woods, never expected to see these little critters hanging in the tree. Had to get this shot quick, didn't see their Mom but, I'm sure she could see me.

GROUND SQUIRREL

"Now is the only thing that exists." I have just entered the forest full of ground squirrels. They scambered around me, as I was taking it all in. They have got to be, one of the cutes rats I have ever seen.

SQUIRREL

“I just want the world to give nature the opportunity to survive.”Looks like this little creature has found himself a great snack.

BALTIMORE ORIOLE

"I work as often as I want and yet I'm free as a bird."

I have seen these orioles fly past me a few times. Now, finally one sat long enough for a picture.

If you sit in the woods long enough and pay attention there are so many beautifully feathered friends to capture.

FULLMOON

“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”
This is the moon that makes you want to stay up all night!

WHITE HAWK

Speehless..

GEESE

"The thrill of the chase." Nothing wrong with a little wild goose chase, now and then!

SUNRISE

"Got my glasses, I'm out the door."
The beauty of the sunrise will only last for a few mintues. If you wake to late you will miss it!

TURTLE

"Once bitten, twice shy."Caught this turtle taking a little stroll down the road. Turtles are so shy but, at least he let me see his awesome eyes.

GREAT BLUE HERON

“...the fog is rising.”I hardly ever see these guys in the trees. Must be a morning thing!

GEESE

"In time of test, family is best." The geese families are growing up so fast. There they go through the half grown lily pads.

MONARK BUTTERFLY

"Butterflies are self propelled flowers."

My favorite spot just got better. I love it when a butterfly lands for a picture.

NEW MOON

"A cow jumped over the moon"
"Hey Diddle Diddle" always comes to mind when I see this moon. It was a picture perfect ending to a magical day!

MALE MALLARD DUCK

“Keep your head above water”

I watched this Mallard duck, swim around looking for food. The male Mallard is one of my favorite ducks. Can't wait to see their little ducklings, they should be coming soon.

RED-WINGED BLACK BIRD

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”The birds will soon have a place to hide amongst the leaves of the trees. Until then, I'm gonna try and capture as many of the feathery friends as I can..

GEESE

"Mother's love grows by giving." The adult goose was watching me closely, as she let me get a great shot of her and her beautiful goslings!

GOSLINGS

"Nature is my medicine."

It's hard to have a bad day when these little guys are in your way.

BLOSSOM

"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love." This tree is one of the best Mothers Day gifts, I have ever received. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. Every spring it brings a smile to my face, and beauty to our yard.

SPRING SUNSET

"All good things must come to an end." What a beautiful sight to see, the sun going down through the forest trees. The colors on that tree, simply amazes me..

TURKEY VULTURE

"You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
These turkey vultures are not shy. He waited for me to walk all the way around him, to get this shot. They are just as curious as I am.

TURTLES

“The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.”There were a few turtles soaking up the spring sun. Some were a little shy and jumped in when I walked up. So, I watched them swim around until, they came up with a brightly painted shells.

PELICAN ISLAND

"If you build it, the pelicans may come."And here they hang with all the other water fowl in the middle of Des Plains river. Truly a sight to see.

PELICANS

"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality."

Watched as the pelicans flocked close together fishing. The first couple would dive their heads in the water and the rest would then follow. A few more flew over when they noticed the fishing was good!

RED-WINGED BLACK BIRD

"No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." These cleaver little birds are most often found by a marsh. Just one reason why I love them so much!

SPRING

“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction”

When these little beauties appear, you know spring is finally here. At least the snow shouldn't last for very long. It's a good feeling to hear all the birds singing, all of their beautiful songs. Won't be able to find these creatures in the leafy trees, before long!

WHITE HAWK

“Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.”

The beautiful white hawk is back in sight. Caught him flying over my car. By time I drove back around, he was feeding on the ground. This is a very shy raptor, got this shot when he was flying on out of there.

RED TAILS

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

This Red Tailed is as beautiful in flight up in the sky. Just as they are amazing to see way up in the Evergreen trees.

STATE BIRD

“A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.”

Oh, and can these birds sing. You defiantly hear cardinals long before you see the them. And once you hear them they are so easy to spot.

SWANS

“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.” I watched these swans dance in the water for days. There beauty can take your breath away.

MALLARD DUCKS

“The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you.” You hardly ever see these ducks without their mates. As usually the male is more colorful than the female. No doubt he will follow her anywhere, for the rest of their lives.

EAGLE MATES

“A friend is like an eagle; you don't find them flying in flocks”

Such an amazing sight when you see and eagle. But, when you see two sitting next to each other it is truly uplifting. I hope these raptors come back for many years to come.

JUVANILE BALD EAGLE

“Until you spread your wings, you'll have no idea how far you can fly.”

I am guessing by the end of this year, this juvenile bald eagle will have his white head and tail. Then there will be no second guessing, on what kind of raptor it is.

GREAT BLUE HERON

"Our patience will achieve more than our force."

Spring must be right around the corner. The still water pond is only half covered with ice. This is where the fishing is good, and the views are very nice! Come summer this pond will be full of these beautiful creatures.

TURKEY BIRDS

“Looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift.”

Wild Turkeys all around. Kicking and scratch, looking for food on the snow covered ground. These huge creature are almost to beautiful to eat. What an awesome creature, I am so amazed to meet!

FAVORITE FUNGI

“Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.”

I'm fascinated with the growth of fungi. And these mushrooms are so cool!

Never before have I ever seen pink mushroom. Must be poison!
