SPRINGS FIRST FULL MOON

"No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." The first of four full moons in spring. Exports were calling it the Super moon. It was the brightest moon in the past eight hundred years or so.

Love this time of year, all the duck families are hanging out. Pretty soon, all the little ducklings will be here too.

It was definalty lunch time in the woods that day. Doe eating grass, Squirels eating the nuts they have been storing for the cold winters day.

RED TAILED HAWK

"Begin, be bold and venture to be wise."
Red tailed hawks will always be my favorite big bird. This one is all fluffed out trying to keep warm on a snowy winters day.

JUVENILE EAGLE

“Do it for peace of mind.”The Juvenile eagles seem to be hanging out here a lot. The first day I saw the one with the white head, now nothing but babies. No matter, they are both cool to spy on.

Here is a baby eagle hanging out along the river, waiting for the snow to let up, so he can do some fishing. This is such an awesome raptor to see. We only have them here for a few months in the winter. I really wish they could stay all year long.

A black walnut makes a good mid morning snack, for this little red squirrel.

POSSUM

This was quite a surprise to see this little possum wandering around the field in the middle of the of the day. I think he has the days and nights confused.

Here's a little closer shot of the hooded merganser duck, just hanging out with his mallard duck friends.. until they had to fly away.

Driving through the forest to see a mommy deer stop to stare at me. The sun can set now, on this picture perfect day.

COYOTE

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”The snow is falling, while the coyote searches for his food. The next day when I saw him, you could really see his true colors. The snow makes a beautiful back drop for his fluffy brown fur.

This bird will always be my favorite. I can usually spot him a mile away. I love when he is right up close to the road, so I can get a better look.

SWANS AND THE MALLARD DUCKS

"Joy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift."It's so crazy that these swans come alive in the winter months. Makes for a beautiful sight on a cold winters day.

AMERICAN EAGLE

"Eagles don't flock, you have to find them one at a time." Well first one this year. And I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. Spotted him early in the morning, right when the sun was coming up. Such an awesome bird.

“If you want to get along, go along.” What a bunch of lucky ducks, they get to enjoy the river all year long. Need to get a closer look, at those ducks I have never seen before.

Fall is by far my favorite time of year.... The leaves of trees are just plain magical. This year was a spectalur show.

Been trying to capture a shot of this bird since last winter. Finally he sat long enough for me to hear his song and take lots of photos. What a awesome bird.

Almost drove right passed theses guys, glad I stopped to take a better look. There were two juvenile black crowned night heron nest mates fishing!! What a cool sight!!
